The laboratory has nationally recognised expertise in the detection of abnormalities in the coagulation cascade and is a reference centre receiving referrals from across the region and beyond. The recently opened platelet laboratory uses some of the most sophisticated equipment available to detect rare platelet defects. The laboratories are supported by five clinical consultant haematologists including a paediatric consultant.

Diagnostic Haemostasis and Thrombosis
The Diagnostic Haemostasis and Thrombosis Laboratory performs routine coagulation screening tests, including Point of Care (POC) warfarin monitoring, and specialist haemostasis analysis to Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals.
