GSTS and KingsPath at IBMS Congress

GSTS/KingsPath recently exhibited at the bi-annual IBMS Congress at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham. IBMS Congress is the largest event of its kind in the UK and provides the chance for scientists and companies in the biomedical science industry to come together, share research, studies and advances in technology from all facets of the industry.

The event, which ran from 26-28 September was successful in promoting the range of tests and services the partnership offers, while illustrating the unique nature of the public/private partnership model. Given the changing face of the pathology industry in the UK, the approach GSTS and KingsPath have adopted serves as an example of the alternative options available to NHS Trusts and private providers across the UK.

KingsPath Commercial Manager Adrian Turner said IBMS Congress was an excellent opportunity to promote what is a unique and innovative joint venture approach in a changing industry.

"People are genuinely interested in the nature of the joint venture," he said.

"Attending events like IBMS Congress, positions us amongst our peers and allows delegates to speak to us about our extensive range of tests and services and about the nature of our partnership model."

GSTS Recruitment Manager, Kevin Feely said the exhibition was also a great opportunity to attract scientists wanting to work at GSTS.

"We have a number of exciting vacancies at the moment." he said.

"Being able to speak with biomedical scientists from across the country, some of whom are looking for work, allows us to attract high level candidates to all of our current vacancies."

IBMS Congress tops off a year that saw GSTS and KingsPath attend three trade conferences; NHS ConFed, the European Haematology Association Congress and IBMS Congress, all of which proved successful in raising awareenss of GSTS' unique position in the pathology market.
