GSTS Bedford provides first class pathology services primarily to Bedford Hospital NHS Trust, local GP Commissioners and neighbouring healthcare organisations. An excellent Cytology service is also provided to NHS Bedfordshire which encompasses the Luton General Practices.
The partnership between Bedford Hospital and GSTS allows both a strong regional footprint and the ability to benefit from the nationally recognised clinical and scientific excellence of Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospitals.
The pathology services are provided from a state of the art, purpose built building. The laboratories offer a comprehensive range of services, fully supported by consultant-grade staff. GSTS Bedford incorporates four main service areas:

Please note: Phlebotomy services are only available in the outpatient department in the South Wing and Gilbert Hitchcock House in the North Wing. Paediatric phlebotomy services are available from Riverbank children’s ward. The laboratory is unable to offer phlebotomy services.
