

Principal Biomedical Scientist
Head of the Haemostasis Laboratories providing expert guidance for scientific issues, diagnostic pathways and complex result interpretation. Also leads the R+D in these laboratories and the teaching and training of scientists and clinicians up to doctoral and MRCPath level.
Twenty seven years experience as a biomedical scientist, trained at Great Ormond Street with subsequent employment in London teaching hospitals and their Haemophilia Centre.
Enhancement/development/invention/introduction of numerous diagnostic methods and interpretive strategies. Special interest in thrombophilia and antiphospholipid antibodies with published research in the latter leading to being the first person ever awarded the (then) new degree of Doctor of Biomedical Science. Additional activities include visiting specialist lectureships and current Chief Examiner in Haematology for the Institute of Biomedical Science.
